A man was shot and killed by police in Evansville, Ind. after he called 911 reporting a “problem” and threatening to take care of it himself if police didn’t respond. Police arrived at around 5:15 p.m. and encountered the man, who pulled out a gun and pointed it at them before retreating into an alley and firing at the officers. In response, police shot and fatally wounded him. No officers were injured in the incident. The man is believed to have been dealing with mental health issues. Five officers were involved in the shooting and have been placed on administrative leave as is standard protocol. Body camera footage of the incident has been captured and will be released by detectives during a press conference on Wednesday.
