A Russian attack on the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro has left at least five people dead and 47 injured, with a shopping centre and other facilities damaged. The attack, which involved missiles and drones, also shattered windows in schools, kindergartens, and a children’s hospital, according to the local mayor. The ongoing conflict, now in its third year, has claimed over 10,000 civilian lives and injured 20,000 others, as reported by the United Nations. In addition to the attack on Dnipro, Russian shelling in Kharkiv resulted in one death and two injuries. Meanwhile, Ukraine has received €2 billion from the International Monetary Fund to support welfare payments and salaries for doctors and teachers, with an additional €14 billion expected pending further economic progress evaluations. The latest violence adds to the devastation caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, with ongoing attacks disrupting daily life and causing widespread suffering.
