WWE and Indiana Sports Corp sign a long-term contract for multiple events

Indianapolis is set to become a major hub for WWE events, with the announcement of an eight-year deal that will bring the Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and WrestleMania to the city. This marks the first time since 1992 and 2008 that Indianapolis will host WrestleMania and SummerSlam, respectively. The deal also includes hosting WWE Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown tapings at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, along with other select events.

The agreement, estimated to have an economic impact of over $300 million, was confirmed by the Indiana Sports Corp and WWE, with WWE EVP Chris Legentil expressing excitement about bringing the events to Indianapolis. The partnership also involves a community-focused Legacy project aimed at benefiting underserved sections of the city.

WWE superstar Bianca Belair, who hails from Tennessee, is particularly thrilled about the proximity of the events to her home state, calling it a “family reunion” for the WWE Universe. Another Midwest native, Seth Rollins, shared his excitement about the partnership, highlighting the potential to create lasting memories for the next generation of wrestling fans.

While WrestleMania has been a two-night event since 2020, SummerSlam will also adopt this format when it returns to Indianapolis in the future. WWE plans to sell out Lucas Oil Stadium on back-to-back nights for SummerSlam, recognizing the need to showcase their deep roster and engage fans over multiple nights.

Overall, the partnership between WWE and Indiana Sports Corp signifies a major opportunity for Indianapolis to cement its status as a premier destination for wrestling events, providing fans with unforgettable experiences and boosting the local economy.
