Gregory Davis, a 22-year-old man from Indianapolis, was arrested in Hancock County for a reported road rage incident involving a semi-truck driver. The incident occurred on I-70 near the 101-mile marker when shots were fired at the truck from a moving vehicle. Indiana State Police responded to the scene and located Davis with a handgun in his car. It was determined that the shooting was the result of a road rage encounter, but fortunately, the semi-truck driver was not injured.
This incident is the 40th instance of gunfire on Indianapolis area interstates in 2024, with 55 shootings investigated in the Indianapolis District in 2023. Davis was taken into custody and transported to the Hancock County Jail. The semi-truck showed damage consistent with gunshot holes on its passenger side. No further injuries have been reported.
