July 4th in Indianapolis: A Stormy Start Leads to a Calm Finish with Indiana Weather and Traffic Updates

The Indianapolis area is in for some strong storms this Independence Day, with damaging winds and possible tornadoes being a concern. The storms are expected to arrive in the early to mid-afternoon hours, bringing much-needed heavy rain to the area. Temperatures will be cooler, but the humidity will remain high, making it feel uncomfortable.

As the evening approaches, the rain will start to wind down, with isolated showers or thunderstorms still possible during the evening hours. Despite this, many areas should remain dry for fireworks displays, but it’s recommended to keep an eye on radar just in case.

Moving into Friday, a few lingering showers are expected in the morning, but conditions will gradually improve, with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low to mid-80s by the afternoon. The weekend is looking great, with sunny and less humid conditions on Saturday, and partly cloudy skies on Sunday with temperatures in the mid-80s.

Looking ahead to next week, seasonable temperatures are expected with chances for showers and thunderstorms returning by Monday night and continuing through Tuesday and Wednesday. Overall, the weekend will be a pleasant break from the stormy weather, with the potential for some wet weather early next week.
