Indianapolis Police Respond to Three Shootings in 45 Minutes

Indianapolis police were kept busy early Friday morning as officers responded to three separate shootings within a 45-minute span. Despite the violent incidents, all three victims were reported to be in stable condition at local hospitals, according to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Public Information Officer Tommy Thompson.

The first shooting occurred at 3 a.m. along the Canal Walk at West Michigan Street and Indiana Avenue. The victim was awake and breathing, but no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made in connection to this incident.

Just 15 minutes later, around 3:15 a.m., another shooting was reported in the 500 block of North Oakland Avenue on the city’s near east side. Again, no arrests have been made and police have not shared any information regarding potential suspects.

Finally, at 3:45 a.m., IMPD officers responded to a shooting in the 6000 block of Windsor Drive near North Arlington Avenue. One person was found with gunshot wounds, but no suspect information has been released and no arrests have been made.

Investigators do not believe the three shootings are related and are urging anyone with information to contact IMPD or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS. Despite the violence, the Indianapolis community is reminded to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help prevent further incidents.
