Three people killed and others injured after driver plows into holiday crowd in New York City park.


Three people were killed and seven others were injured when a driver suspected of being under the influence crashed into a crowd celebrating the holiday at Corlears Hook Park in Manhattan on the Fourth of July. The pickup truck, traveling at a high speed, ran through an intersection and onto the sidewalk, hitting families who were enjoying the evening. The driver was eventually removed from the truck by people at the scene and held until first responders arrived.

The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, is under investigation for driving under the influence.
