A young child in Sleeth, Indiana was airlifted after suffering a severe facial injury from a fireworks mishap, according to a social media post from the sheriff’s office. The incident occurred in a rural area just outside Sleeth, between Monticello and Delphi. A parent called 911 to report that a firework had exploded in the child’s face, despite being a good distance away from it. The child, a male of unspecified age, was flown by medical helicopter for expedited medical treatment. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of fireworks and the importance of following safety guidelines during holiday celebrations.
