A tragic accident occurred on U.S. 31 in Greenwood late Friday night, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Connor Stevens from Indianapolis. The crash occurred just before 10 p.m. when Stevens, riding his motorcycle on U.S. 31 and Main Street, suddenly crashed, leaving him trapped underneath the bike. Emergency responders were quick to arrive on the scene, but unfortunately, Stevens was pronounced dead at 9:55 p.m. It remains unclear if he was hit by another vehicle or collided with an object.
The Johnson County Coroner’s Office has confirmed Stevens’ identity as the victim in this fatal crash. Tyler Swardson of the Greenwood Fire Department described the swift response of emergency units, who were able to free Stevens from under the vehicle within 10 minutes of arrival.
