IndyGo offers discounted fares and complimentary backpacks for students – News in Indianapolis | Weather in Indiana | Traffic in Indiana

IndyGo, the transportation service in Indianapolis, is offering free backpacks to students who register for reduced-fare ridership during Back to School Night on July 25th at the Julia M. Carson Transit Center. In addition to the backpacks, IndyGo staff will provide travel training for students under the age of 18 to help them navigate the city’s transit system.

Students who register for reduced-fare IndyGo ridership will receive a personalized MyKey card that cuts their fares in half when purchasing transit value online or at the Julia M. Carson Transit Center. IndyGo also partners with several local high schools, including Indianapolis Metropolitan High School, Believe Circle City High School, and Purdue Polytechnic High Schools, allowing their students to ride for free.

Students at these high schools are encouraged to ask their school for a Program Enrollment Form to bring to the Back to School Night event, although the forms are not required to attend. More information is available on the IndyGo website.
