Law enforcement officers in the Indianapolis area are teaming up with Dunkin’ Donuts for the 10th annual “Cop on a Rooftop” event to support Special Olympics Indiana. The event, which has raised $145,000 in the past eight years, involves police officers stationed on the rooftops of participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations across the state to raise awareness for the cause. Other officers will be on the ground collecting donations from customers in the drive-thru and in-store. All donations will directly support Special Olympics athletes in Indiana. Customers who donate can receive a coupon for a free donut, while those who donate $10 or more will get a coupon for a free medium-sized coffee. This year, 14 Dunkin’ Donuts stores in Indiana are participating in the event, which will run until noon on Friday. The locations include stores in Carmel, Brownsburg, Indianapolis, and Westfield. The event aims to raise funds for a worthy cause while also creating a fun and engaging way for the community to support Special Olympics Indiana.
