Judge Francis Gull has rejected multiple defense motions in the trial of Richard Allen, who was arrested for the 2017 murders of Abby Williams and Libby German. The defense had requested sanctions on prosecutors for allegedly destroying evidence, but Judge Gull ruled that the defense had not followed proper trial rules. He also denied the defense’s motion to dismiss based on missing evidence, stating that there was no evidence of bad faith on the part of the state. The defense suggested another suspect, but Judge Gull ruled that there was no supporting evidence. Allen’s trial has been rescheduled multiple times and is now set to start on October 14, running through November 15.
