Naptown All Pro Wrestling to Host Event Honoring Slain Activist Ron Gee
Naptown All Pro Wrestling will be hosting a special event this weekend to honor Ron Gee, the founder of Cease Fire Indy, who was tragically killed in a shooting last month. The event aims to raise awareness about gun violence and continue Ron Gee’s legacy of community activism.
Jordan Rose, the owner and founder of Naptown All Pro Wrestling, discussed the event on Daybreak Friday morning with News 8’s Jeremy Jenkins. Rose, a lifelong East Sider, felt compelled to take action after recognizing Indianapolis’ violent crime problem and reconnecting with the city a couple of years ago.
The event, scheduled for Sunday at Ellenberger Park, will feature wrestling matches and activities to engage the community, particularly youth, in the fight against gun violence. Proceeds from the event and hat sales on their website will go directly to Ron Gee’s family and Cease Fire Indy.
Rose emphasized the importance of taking action to combat gun violence, stating that thoughts and prayers can only go so far. He believes Indianapolis has the potential to become a major wrestling hub and hopes the city’s wrestling scene will reach a 10 out of 10 rating by next year.
Tickets for the event are priced at $5, with the funds going towards supporting Ron Gee’s family and Cease Fire Indy. Rose pledged to ensure the funds are delivered to the appropriate parties in honor of the late activist.
