Tracy Davis, a nurse at the Vanderburgh County jail in Evansville, Indiana, was recently arrested for stealing patient medications and falsifying entries in the jail’s controlled substance log. The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office became suspicious of Davis on August 7 when she appeared disoriented at work. Security camera footage showed her taking suboxone tablets off-camera and making errors in the controlled substance log. Davis admitted to taking the suboxone when questioned by detectives and was arrested on misdemeanor charges of theft and possession of a Schedule III substance. Following her arrest, her security clearances at the jail were revoked, and it remains unclear if she will lose her nursing license.Davis, 53, of Waverly, Kentucky, was released after being booked into the jail.
