As the war in Ukraine enters its 912th day, recent developments include Russian missile and drone attacks on northern and eastern Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian shelling in Russia’s Belgorod region resulting in civilian casualties. In a separate incident, a Russian attack on a hotel in Kramatorsk wounded two journalists, with a third missing.
On the diplomatic front, Russia and Ukraine exchanged prisoners of war with the help of the United Arab Emirates. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy unveiled a new drone missile called Palianytsia, claiming it would bring the war back to Russia, while accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of wanting to “destroy” Ukraine.
Moreover, Ukraine is seeking permission from Western allies to use long-range Storm Shadow missiles to target deep inside Russia in an effort to compel Moscow to end the conflict. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in military activities, leading to casualties and escalating tensions in the region.
