Indianapolis man receives more than three-year sentence for possessing illegal Glock switch

Jaquan Robinson, a 21-year-old Indianapolis man, has been sentenced to 37 months in federal prison for possession of a Glock switch, a machine gun conversion device. The sentence includes three years of supervised release. In December 2023, Marion County probation officers found the device in Robinson’s apartment during a compliance visit. A subsequent search revealed his intention to convert a semiautomatic firearm into a fully automatic machine gun. Robinson, who has a history of firearms convictions, was still on probation for previous offenses when he was caught with the illegal device. His possession of machine gun conversion devices, also known as Glock switches or auto-sears, violates federal law. Individuals are not allowed to own or sell these devices. This case highlights the dangers of possessing illegal firearm accessories and the consequences for individuals with a history of firearms-related offenses. Robinson’s past convictions and pending charges demonstrate the need for strict enforcement of gun laws to protect public safety.
