Multiple campers catch fire at Camping World in Westmoreland County.

A fire broke out at Camping World of Route 356 in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, early Wednesday morning, engulfing more than a dozen campers. Rachel Ramsey, who witnessed the fire from her home, described hearing explosions and seeing a massive blaze. Despite initial reports of 15 campers being involved, Police Chief Dan Uncapher later confirmed that the number was actually 18. The explosions were attributed to propane tanks on the vehicles, causing concern for nearby residents like Ramsey.

Ten fire departments quickly responded to the scene, preventing the fire from spreading to the business. Chief Uncapher praised the prompt reporting, which likely saved a lot of property. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no one was taken to the hospital. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but investigators plan to review surveillance footage from the store once it’s available. The State Police Fire Marshall is leading the investigation into the incident.

The community is thankful for the swift response of emergency crews and is relieved that the fire did not result in any further damage or injuries. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of quick reporting and effective emergency response. Residents are urged to stay vigilant and take precautions to prevent similar incidents in the future.
