Former law enforcement officer turned Beech Grove Firearms owner Greg Burge is a strong advocate for gun safety, especially when it comes to children. Following a recent incident where a toddler shot himself with a gun in a car, Burge emphasized the importance of keeping firearms out of reach of children and ensuring they are properly secured.
Partnering with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Beech Grove Firearms is distributing free gun locks to customers, no questions asked and no purchase necessary. Gun locks are essential for preventing accidental shootings and keeping firearms secure. These locks can be easily attached to semiautomatic pistols, revolvers, and long guns, making them inaccessible to unauthorized users.
Burge believes that the safety of children should be the top priority for adults and parents. He stresses the importance of responsible gun ownership and taking necessary precautions to prevent tragedies from occurring. By providing free gun locks to the community, Beech Grove Firearms and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office are working together to promote safe firearm practices and reduce the risk of accidents involving children.
In addition to obtaining free gun locks at Beech Grove Firearms, residents can also get them at all Indianapolis Public Library branches, courtesy of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. This initiative aims to increase awareness about gun safety and encourage responsible storage of firearms in households with children. With the support of local businesses and law enforcement, efforts to prevent gun-related accidents are being made to protect the well-being of children and families in the community.
