The Indiana volleyball team is gearing up for the start of the 2024 season as they head to Kennesaw, Georgia for the Kennesaw State Invitational. The Hoosiers will face off against Kennesaw State University and Wichita State University in their first matches of the season.
Kennesaw State, a young team with six freshmen and five sophomores, is led by junior outside hitter Manu Johnsen, who was named preseason All-CUSA and has impressive stats from last season. On the other hand, sophomore setter Kourtney Brown is a key player for the Owls’ offense and was named to the ASUN All-Freshman team last season after leading the team in assists.
Indiana’s second match of the invitational will be against Wichita State, a team that won the National Invitational Volleyball Championship last year. Players to watch on the Shockers include fifth year-senior setter Izzi Strand and senior middle blocker Morgan Stout, who both had standout seasons last year.
The Hoosiers are set to face off against Kennesaw State on Friday evening and Wichita State on Saturday morning. Fans can catch the Kennesaw State match on ESPN+ and follow reporter Parker Rodgers on Twitter for updates throughout the Indiana volleyball season.
