The Indiana Fever had a record-breaking night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse as they beat the Connecticut Sun in front of a star-studded crowd including Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas. Olympic track and field gold medalist Gabby Thomas and Indiana native David Letterman were also in attendance. The game was significant as rookie, Kysre Gondrezick, set a new WNBA record for most 3-pointers in a rookie season with 88. The Fever went on to win 84-80, marking their first victory against the Sun since July 3, 2021. Biles and Thomas visited the Fever locker room after the game, meeting players and taking photos. The team set a new league attendance record with over 500,000 fans watching their home and road games this season, including more than 17,000 fans in attendance that night. This win against the Sun adds to the Fever’s recent success, winning four of their five games since returning from the Olympic break. The Fever will now face the Sky in Chicago on Friday. Overall, it was a memorable night for the Indiana Fever with a record crowd and a significant win in the presence of esteemed athletes and celebrities.
