Live coverage: Team GB clinches gold medals in taekwondo on day three of Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, with strong showing in athletics as well


Team GB continued to dominate in the Paralympic Games with key victories in taekwondo, boccia, and badminton. Amy Truesdale secured the 10th gold medal for GB in taekwondo, while Matt Bush followed up with his own gold medal victory. In boccia, Australia’s Jamieson Leeson advanced to the semifinals. In badminton, the USA’s Miles Krajewski and Jayci Simon competed in the mixed doubles semifinals.

In the pool, USA’s Mallory Weggemann set a Paralympic record in the SM7 200m individual medley, while USA’s Olivia Chambers won gold in the women’s S13 400m freestyle. China added to their gold medal tally with Ma Jia setting a world record in the women’s S11 50m freestyle.

In archery, GB’s Jodie Grinham advanced to the semifinals in the women’s compound event, alongside Phoebe Paterson Pine who competed for bronze. The USA’s Jaydin Blackwell set a world record in the T38 100m.

In wheelchair rugby, Team GB remained unbeaten in pool play, setting the stage for a semifinal matchup against the USA. In tennis, GB athletes continued to excel with Andy Lapthorne, Gregory Slade, Lucy Shuker, and Ben Bartram/Dahnon Ward advancing out of the first round.

Overall, it was a day of triumphs for several nations at the Paralympic Games, showcasing outstanding performances across multiple sports.
