A tragic incident occurred in the Dominican Republic as a truck crashed into a bar in the southern community of Azua. The crash resulted in the deaths of at least 11 people, including a police sergeant, and left more than 40 others injured. The driver of the truck fled the scene and has not been found, while a passenger in the truck was detained. Most of the injured individuals were taken to a nearby hospital, with four of them in critical condition. The victims ranged in age from 17 to 55, with girls, women, and men among them.
