Bridgestone America has announced a long-term extension with Penske Entertainment to continue Firestone as the exclusive tire supplier for all IndyCar racing events, including the Indianapolis 500 and the INDY NXT developmental series. This deal ensures that Firestone will remain the only tire provider for these races, continuing a partnership that has lasted for 25 years. Paolo Ferrari, the executive chairman and CEO of Bridgestone America, highlighted Firestone’s long history in world-class racing, dating back to their victory in the inaugural Indianapolis 500 in 1911. He emphasized the role of motorsports in driving sustainable innovation and performance, noting the company’s use of new materials such as hard-to-recycle plastics and palm oil waste residue in tire production. Roger Penske, chairman of the Penske Corporation, praised Firestone for their foundational role in racing and their commitment to innovation.
