Three people were arrested, six cars were seized, and a stolen gun was recovered in Indianapolis over the weekend as authorities cracked down on street spinning and takeovers for the second consecutive week. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrests and seizures on social media just before 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Last weekend, nine people were charged in connection with a spinning incident, during which some individuals threw rocks, bottles, and baseball bats at officers attempting to disperse the gathering. IMPD emphasized that they will not tolerate such dangerous behavior, which not only puts lives at risk but is also illegal.
In a social media post on Sunday, IMPD warned against participating in reckless driving, spinning, or street takeovers during what some may consider a “Sunday Funday.” The post stated that blocking traffic and endangering others could result in arrests, hefty fines, and impoundment of vehicles, with no exceptions.
The crackdown on street spinning and takeovers comes as authorities in Indianapolis work to address growing concerns over the dangerous and illegal activities. With multiple arrests, vehicle seizures, and recent charges filed, IMPD is sending a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated in the city. Residents are urged to report any illegal activities to law enforcement to ensure the safety of the community.
