The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced upcoming lane and ramp closures on Interstate 465 on Indianapolis’ southwest side. The closures, scheduled from 8 p.m. on Sept. 27 to 6 a.m. on Oct. 7, are necessary for crews to complete pavement and joint work between U.S. 40 and I-70. During construction, both northbound and southbound lanes will be reduced to two lanes of traffic, with several ramps closed as well. Southbound ramps affected include 38th St., Crawfordsville Rd., 10th St., U.S. 36, and Washington St. The Sam Jones Expressway will remain open. Northbound ramps impacted include Kentucky Ave., Sam Jones Expressway, and Washington Ave. Drivers are advised to plan for additional travel time and consider alternate routes during this time. The closures are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing safety and efficiency on the interstate.
