Areas south of I-70 in Indianapolis received much-needed rainfall exceeding 0.5 inches, bringing relief from dry conditions. However, more rain is on the way as tropical moisture will bring additional rain chances later this week.
Today, after overnight rain, there will be a break in the morning with scattered showers and storms in the afternoon. The rain will not be continuous with just an isolated chance of strong storms. High temperatures will reach the mid-70s.
Tonight, a few spotty showers may appear early in the night with low temperatures near 60 degrees. Tomorrow will see mostly cloudy skies with high temperatures in the mid-70s.
Looking ahead, the tropical storm Helene is expected to make landfall as a major hurricane in Florida late Thursday before moving towards the Ohio River Valley. Indiana will experience tropical moisture from the remnants, bringing rounds of rain late Thursday and through the weekend.
The rainfall is a welcome sight for areas in Indianapolis, helping to alleviate dry conditions, but residents are urged to keep an eye on the weather as more rain is expected in the coming days. Stay tuned for updates on the impact of tropical storm Helene and the potential for more rain in the region.
