Lupita Nyong’o infuses ‘The Wild Robot’ with her unique outsider perspective

In DreamWorks’ new animated movie, “The Wild Robot,” Lupita Nyong’o voices the character of Roz, a robot that finds herself stranded on a remote island inhabited by wild animals. Nyong’o, drawing from her own experiences of feeling like an outsider in Mexico, connects with Roz’s story of adaptation and finding a sense of belonging. The film shows Roz developing relationships with the animals on the island and learning to parent a gosling.
