IU Columbus expands Seamless Pathway program to additional high schools – Latest news from Indianapolis | Updates on Indiana Weather and Traffic

Indiana University Columbus has introduced a Seamless Pathway program that offers a direct-admit path to college for high school seniors in the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. The program has expanded to include students from 12 additional high schools in the surrounding area. A memorandum of understanding has been signed with each school district to simplify the application and admissions process for eligible students.

Students who meet the admissions criteria will receive a letter informing them of their eligibility for admission to IU Columbus and will be directed to complete a brief form to accept their admission. They will not need to complete a traditional college application, request high school transcripts, or pay any fees. The admissions team at IU Columbus will provide support services, resources on paying for college, and information on undergraduate degrees available at the Columbus campus.

Reinhold Hill, IU Columbus vice chancellor and dean, expressed excitement about the partnership with neighboring school districts to increase the college-going rate in the region and remove barriers to higher education for high school students. This initiative is based on a similar program at IU Indianapolis that offers automatic admission to Indianapolis Public Schools high school students who meet specific criteria.

For more information about the IU Columbus Seamless Pathway program, interested individuals can visit the program’s website. IU Columbus offers a range of undergraduate and graduate degrees in various fields. This article was originally published on The Tribune website in September 2024.
