Free K-12 Student Tutoring Offered by AskRose – Indianapolis News, Indiana Weather, and Indiana Traffic

The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana, is offering free math and science tutoring help for K-12 students through its AskRose Program, now in its 33rd year. Alisha Mastakar, a third-year Rose-Hulman student and tutor in the program, emphasized the benefits for local students, including fostering a passion for STEM subjects and developing problem-solving skills. AskRose tutors assist students in understanding their homework, arriving at answers themselves, and preparing to tackle similar questions on their own.

Students can access tutoring services by calling, emailing, or chatting online with a tutor, who will guide them through the problem-solving process until they understand the solution. The program aims to empower students to learn how to solve problems independently rather than simply providing answers. Tutors are available virtually and can assist students in English or Spanish, with native Spanish speakers available to provide support.

Tutoring sessions are offered Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Anyone interested in free tutoring can visit the AskRose website or call 1-877-ASK-ROSE (1-877-275-7673) for more information. AskRose aims to help students not only with their current homework but also to instill a love for STEM subjects and develop valuable problem-solving skills for the future.
