Mecum Auctions is back in Indianapolis for its Indy Fall Special event, taking place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds over the next three days. With nearly 1,000 cars up for auction, attendees can expect a wide range of vehicles, from vintage models to the latest supercars. David Morton of Mecum Auctions highlighted the significance of the event in Indianapolis, where 70% of attendees come to view the cars, while others come to make serious purchases.
The auction offers something for everyone, with cars available for entry-level buyers starting as low as $5,000 to $10,000. Morton noted that the event is not just for seasoned collectors but also for novice buyers looking to start their car collection. With the auction marking the end of the car season, it presents a prime opportunity for both sellers and buyers to make deals.
The high energy of the auction arena is sure to be a highlight of the event, with multiple bidders competing for each car. Morton shared a story of a buyer who paid $360,000 for a vintage car, well over its reserve price of $200,000, showcasing the intense bidding atmosphere.
The Indy Fall Special kicks off each day at 8 a.m., with tickets available starting at $30. The event is expected to attract a large turnout of car enthusiasts and buyers, with the potential for significant sales as seen in Mecum Auctions’ previous events.
