Fraternity brother at Indiana University accused of assaulting two female classmates

A fraternity member at Indiana University, Noah Apgar, is facing seven felony charges after allegedly assaulting two women at Greek residences on campus in September. The charges include five counts of rape, one count of strangulation, and one count of criminal confinement. Apgar is the third male IU student to be arrested in connection with sexual assaults since late August.

The first assault involved Apgar meeting up with a victim at a fraternity house after connecting on Snapchat. Despite initially consensual kissing, Apgar allegedly became aggressive and assaulted the victim against her vocal pleas to stop. The victim later left the house and found help, with security footage showing another student holding Apgar back.

The second assault details are not specified in court records, but police indicate they are similar to the first attack. Apgar’s public defender has declined to comment on the case at this time.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon, the fraternity Apgar is associated with, has suspended him and is cooperating with the investigation. They have denounced all acts of sexual violence and are committed to reinforcing values of well-being and respect.

This incident highlights a disturbing trend of sexual assaults on college campuses and the importance of taking a stand against such violence. The case is ongoing, and authorities are working to ensure justice is served for the victims.
