DEA Raids Sweep Through Indiana, Resulting in Over a Dozen Arrests
INDIANAPOLIS — A coordinated series of raids led by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) resulted in the arrest of more than 12 individuals on Wednesday morning across Indiana. The DEA executed federal warrants in Marion, Johnson, Owen, and Hamilton counties, targeting a significant drug trafficking operation. Authorities seized a substantial cache of illegal substances, including meth, fentanyl, cocaine, and marijuana, as well as several firearms during the operation.
The extensive investigation spanned several months and involved collaboration among local law enforcement agencies, including the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Law enforcement identified key figures linked to drug trafficking and associated violent crime within the region.
In Johnson County, the Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT team played a crucial role in aiding the DEA as they served federal court orders at a residence on Churchill Street. Notable raids in Marion County took place on W. 31st Street and S. Taft Street, areas recognized as part of a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA).
