New charges against Jamey and Misty Noel outlined in recent documents

Former sheriff Jamey Noel and his wife Misty are facing new felony charges in Clark County, Indiana. According to ISP Lt. Jeffrey Hearon, the couple allegedly failed to report over $360,000 in income on their taxes over a five-year period. Jamey is accused of engaging in a vehicle trading and selling scheme using cars registered to the Utica Township Volunteer Firefighters Association (UTVFA) for personal gain. He is also accused of using UTVFA funds to make child support payments and failing to report the income on their taxes.

The couple filed joint tax returns during this period and now face multiple felony charges including theft and tax evasion. Jamey was previously charged with 15 felonies, to which he pleaded not guilty. The investigation also revealed questionable purchases made on UTVFA credit cards including dental bills, phone bills, and purchases from stores like Victoria’s Secret.

Additionally, the Noels are accused of illegally claiming a primary residence tax credit in Indiana and owning multiple properties. The investigation into Jamey Noel began in June 2023 amid allegations of misuse of public funds and resources. Misty was arrested and is being held without bond pending a court hearing.

The Noels’ Florida residence, purchased in 2020, is now up for sale for $769,000. The case highlights a pattern of financial misconduct and alleged tax evasion by the former sheriff and his wife.
