Whitestown Police Department Launches "Christmas Spree" to Support Local Families
WHITESTOWN, Ind. (WISH) — The Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department (WMPD) is excited to announce the return of the “Christmas Spree with WMPD,” a holiday initiative designed to assist local families in need. This community effort invites residents to donate Meijer gift cards, which will enable struggling families to purchase essential items such as clothing, food, and toys for their loved ones.
Selected families will have the unique opportunity to shop alongside a WMPD officer at Meijer, ensuring they can fulfill their holiday wishes. The program aims to foster a spirit of giving and community support during this festive season.
Residents looking to contribute can drop off Meijer gift cards at two convenient locations: the WMPD headquarters at 6208 Veterans Drive from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, or at the Whitestown Municipal Complex at 6210 Veterans Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
Lt. Turney from WMPD emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, “The holiday season is a time for joyous celebrations and an opportunity to help others in our community. We are preparing for our third annual Christmas Spree with WMPD, and we would greatly appreciate any donations. Every dollar raised will be used to assist Whitestown residents in need this holiday season."
