Police Investigate Possible Link Between Two Shooting Incidents in Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis police are investigating a troubling case involving three adults who were shot Thursday night across two separate apartment complexes on the city’s northwest side. Officers responded shortly before 8:40 p.m. to reports of a shooting at the Lakeside Crossing at Eagle Creek apartments on Wind Drift Drive East. When they arrived, they found two victims; one was reported to be in critical condition while the other was stable.
Shortly after, at around 9 p.m., law enforcement received another call regarding a shooting at Colonial Square apartments on Moller Road. There, they located a third victim, who was stabilized following the incident.
Authorities, including Capt. Rob Rider of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, suspect a possible connection between the two crime scenes due to the proximity and the circumstances surrounding the incidents. Drivers discovered crashed vehicles at the Lakeside Crossing apartments, which are believed to be associated with the shootings.
Currently, the genders of the victims have not been disclosed, though police confirmed that no children were involved, despite earlier reports indicating otherwise.
As the investigation unfolds, police continue to gather evidence and information related to the shootings. Community members and residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities as authorities work to uncover the details surrounding this alarming situation. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
