Fishers High School Claims Coveted Zone Banner Amid Roaring Student Spirit

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — In a thrilling conclusion to the season, Fishers High School has emerged victorious, capturing the prestigious Zone Banner, proudly sponsored by Bailey & Wood Mortgage Lenders and Crew Carwash. This achievement reflects the unparalleled enthusiasm and dedication of Fishers’ student section throughout the year.

Sully Hintz, a senior at Fishers, expressed overwhelming pride and excitement, stating, "We’re so happy… It’s just an insane feeling right now." The school’s interim principal, Kyle Goodwin, emphasized the importance of student engagement in shaping their high school experience. "High school is not something that happens to you; you have to actively create it," he said, commending the student section’s efforts to foster school spirit and attendance at both home and away games.

Fishers’ athletic director, Rob Seymour, highlighted the proactive nature of the students, noting their early requests for support in executing their spirited ideas, which helped sustain the momentum throughout the season. Their commitment was evident as Fishers ranked in the top eight in AC’s standings during seven of the nine regular-season weeks.

A standout moment in the season included the student section’s memorable display of a "We Want The Banner" sign, underscoring their determination and unity. This year marks a historical milestone for Fishers as it is their first time winning The Zone Banner.

To celebrate this achievement, News 8 sports director Anthony Calhoun will present Fishers with their championship banner at a ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, November 26. The Zone Banner has a storied history, with previous winners including Bishop Chatard, Franklin Community, and Cathedral, further solidifying Fishers’ place among Indiana’s spirited high school communities.
