A tragic house fire near West Lafayette resulted in the death of both a man and an animal on Tuesday, according to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office. The man has not been identified yet, and the type of animal that perished in the fire was also not specified. The incident was reported by a 911 caller around 9:30 a.m. in the Green Meadows subdivision. Despite efforts from four fire departments, the man was found deceased inside the home once the fire was extinguished. The Office of the State Fire Marshal has been called in to assist with the investigation conducted by the sheriff’s office. The cause of the fire and further details regarding the victims are still under investigation.
