The Indiana men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams had a successful weekend at the Ohio State Invitational, both emerging victorious. The Hoosiers also swept the Big Ten Swimmer of the Week awards, with junior Owen McDonald winning for the men and sophomore Miranda Grana for the women.
McDonald won all eight events he competed in at the midseason meet, earning three individual victories and helping IU secure first place in all five relays. His times rank No. 2 in the country, with an NCAA A cut in the 200-yard backstroke. Grana also had a strong performance, winning three individual events and placing second in another.
The Hoosiers captured NCAA A cuts in all five relays, with Grana contributing to four of those times. Both swimmers’ performances helped Indiana have a successful weekend at the invitational.
