Indiana Sports Corp and Next Practice Partners collaborated to develop a 25-year plan called the 2050 Vision with the goal of making Indiana the global epicenter of sports. The plan is based on feedback from over 120 key stakeholders and industry leaders from across the country, as well as Indiana residents. The vision includes guiding principles and pillars of focus related to arts, culture, community engagement, economic vitality, health, and wellness among others. The plan aims to position Indiana as a leader in hosting sports events, sports tech, sports academia, sports business leadership, and women’s sports.
Indiana Sports Corp President Patrick Talty emphasized the importance of community collaboration to achieve the goals outlined in the 2050 Vision. The plan builds on the city’s history of success in hosting national and international sports events and aims to elevate Indiana’s status as a hub for sports innovation and leadership. The 2050 Vision is described as a transformative strategy that envisions Indiana as a global epicenter of sports by 2050, driven by innovation and disruption to create new practices in the sports industry.
The state is already making progress towards this vision, with upcoming events such as the launch of a new women’s volleyball team, WNBA All-Star 2025, and the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament in 2025. Indiana Sports Corp is encouraging organizations and individuals to contribute their feedback and ideas to help shape the future of sports in Indiana. The 2050 Vision is seen as a collective effort that requires input and collaboration from the broader community to achieve its ambitious goals.
