MUNCIE, Ind. – Madden Moore, a 16-year-old student at Yorktown High School, has spearheaded the Chicken-Giving campaign, which has become a heartwarming tradition in the community. What started as a small effort four years ago with just over 50 chickens has now grown into a thriving initiative, with over 1,500 full meals provided to the homeless with support from family, friends, and local businesses.
Inspired by his stepdad’s act of kindness in buying rotisserie chickens for those in need, Moore’s campaign has garnered the support of over 200 volunteers who help cook, pack, and distribute meals to surrounding communities. The volunteers also deliver Thanksgiving bags, heartfelt cards, and friendship bracelets, spreading joy and compassion during the holiday season.
Moore emphasizes the importance of connection and empathy, highlighting the significance of reaching out to those in need. The Chicken-Giving campaign has brought together individuals of all ages who share Moore’s vision of giving back to the community and making a difference in the lives of others.
Through his initiative, Moore hopes to inspire others to recognize their blessings and extend a helping hand to those less fortunate. The Chicken-Giving campaign serves as a beacon of hope, showcasing the power of unity and service when hearts unite for a common cause.
