The 62nd annual Circle of Lights event on Monument Circle in Indianapolis is expected to draw thousands of people, including those attending the IHSAA football state finals and an Indiana Pacers game. Security measures are in place, with a visible presence of IMPD officers and tactical assets, as well as drones monitoring the area from above. Organizers have set up barriers, equipment, and large monitors for crowd safety and emergency communication. The event will feature more than 4,700 lights and a dazzling display at 6:50 p.m. Attendees, like newcomer Lowell Amos, are excited to witness the tradition for the first time. However, certain items such as chairs, coolers, scooters, bikes, and pets (excluding service animals) have been banned from the event. This year, the stage will be placed on the north side of the monument due to construction. President & CEO of Downtown Indy, Taylor Schaffer, assured attendees that crowd size and entrance and exit points will be closely monitored. The event starts at 6 p.m. and promises to kick off the holiday season with a festive celebration on Monument Circle.
