Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson received his first career fine of $22,511 from the NFL for unnecessary roughness during a game against the Detroit Lions. The fine was issued for leading with the crown of his helmet during a run play that gained 17 yards. Despite the penalty, Richardson led the Colts with 61 yards on the ground in the game. This is only the second time this season that a quarterback has been fined for impermissible use of helmet, with the first being the Dallas Cowboys’ Trey Lance.
Moving forward, the Colts are preparing for a road trip to New England without key players like receiver Josh Downs and Ashton Dulin due to injuries. Despite the challenges, the team is looking to bounce back from their loss against the Lions and focus on their upcoming matchup against the Patriots. The Colts are currently 2.5-point favorites for the game.
