WISH-TV and WNDY Vice President of News, Al Carl, has announced media coverage rules for the upcoming Governor’s race debate in Indiana. The debate will feature all three candidates, Republican Mike Braun, Democrat Jennifer McCormick, and Libertarian Donald Rainwater, and will be broadcast live from the WISH-TV studios on October 3 at 6pm EDT. The debate will be simulcast on affiliate stations throughout Indiana, but with strict rules for usage. No organization may broadcast or stream the debate live without expressed written consent, and post-debate usage is limited to three-minute excerpts with mandatory video and audio credits.
Circle City Broadcasting will provide format guidance for approved broadcast stations, and clips may be used in news programs, on a website, or on social media, as long as they include a link to the full debate on WISHTV.com. Media outlets are not allowed to rebroadcast the debate in its entirety or for longer than three minutes without permission, and the clips can be used until December 31, 2024.
For any questions or guidance, media outlets can contact Al Carl, VP of News for WISH-TV, via email or phone. These rules ensure fair and responsible coverage of the debate while promoting transparency and accountability in media reporting.
