Indianapolis has been selected as the host city for several major sporting events in the coming years. The Indiana Sports Corp announced that the Big Ten Conference has chosen Indianapolis to host four upcoming Big Ten Women’s and Men’s Basketball Tournaments. The 2025 TIAA Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament will take place from March 5 – 9, followed by the 2025 TIAA Men’s Basketball Tournament from March 12- 16. In 2026, Indianapolis will host the women’s tournament and the Men’s Final Four, and the men’s tournament will return to the city in 2027.

These tournaments will feature a 15-team field from the 18-team conference. Indianapolis has a rich history of hosting the Big Ten tournaments, having previously hosted the Women’s Tournament 27 times and the Men’s Tournament 13 times.

Patrick Talty, president of Indiana Sports Corp, expressed excitement about continuing the city’s tradition of hosting Big Ten basketball events and enhancing the experience for participants and fans. The partnership is expected to bring in significant economic impact for the city, with around $150 million projected through the duration of the tournaments.

The announcement follows the news that Indianapolis will also host the Big Ten football championship until 2028. This series of events is set to boost tourism, hotel bookings, and restaurant revenue in the city. Ticket sales for the upcoming basketball tournaments will be announced at a later date. Overall, the selection of Indianapolis as a host city for these prestigious sporting events is a significant win for the city and its sports fans.
