Chair of Indiana Republican Party Steps Down – Latest Updates from Indianapolis, Indiana Weather, and Traffic Updates

Indiana Republican Party Chair Randy Head announced his resignation after just over five months on the job, citing his full-time responsibilities at a law firm. Vice Chair Erin Lucas will serve as interim chair until a new chair is elected. Head is the second chair to step down this year.
Head expressed pride in Republicans’ recent election success, but also plans to continue his work on the state Republican committee. Gov.-elect Mike Braun thanked Head for his work and leadership, and looks forward to working with the Indiana Republican State Committee to select a new chair.
Head’s departure follows a recent convention where delegates broke tradition in selecting a lieutenant governor nominee. Despite Head’s resignation, the party is optimistic about building on the foundation he established. Head thanked Braun for trusting him with the role and expressed gratitude to his law firm for allowing him to serve the party. He also recognized the hard work of the party’s staff in achieving fundraising benchmarks and historic election results.
Braun praised Head for bringing people together and contributing to a successful gubernatorial transition. The state committee is expected to move forward with selecting a new chair who will continue to lead the party to success in the future.
