Some of the key projects to receive funding include upgrades to transmission lines and the addition of smart grid technology for Twin Valley Electric Cooperative in southeastern Kansas, wastewater system improvements in Miami County, water main replacements in the City of Dexter, the construction of a new water treatment plant and distribution line upgrades in Osawatomie, water system modernization for the City of Fowler, distribution system replacements and nitrate removal plant construction in Belle Plaine, pipeline replacement and a new standpipe for Wabaunsee County Rural Water District No. 1, and water line replacements and well infrastructure improvements in the City of Solomon.
The funding breakdown includes $4.875 million for electric upgrades and $74.204 million for water system improvements. These investments aim to ensure sustainable infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents in rural Kansas.
