John Hart, the head football coach at Brownsburg High School, has been recognized as the winner of the NFL’s Don Shula High School Coach of the Year award for the AFC. Hart, who led Brownsburg to their first state championship since 1985 in 2024, was surprised and thrilled to receive the honor while playing golf with his brothers. He will be attending the Super Bowl and Pro Bowl Games, walking the red carpet, and being recognized at the NFL Honors on February 6. Hart, along with his wife Janet, will receive a $10,000 prize and a $15,000 grant for the Brownsburg football program. Despite his success, Hart remains humble and credits his family, football players, staff, community, and the Colts for his achievements. Hart has a record of 82-19 with the Bulldogs and became the first head coach in Indiana high school football history to win a state championship with three different schools. His dedication to the game and the support of the Brownsburg community have been instrumental in his success. He will be forever grateful for this recognition.
