Former Indiana Hoosiers center Mike Katic has transitioned from his football career to join Barstool Sports’ live midday show, “The Yak,” hosted by Dave “Big Cat” Katz. With a projected late day three pick in the upcoming NFL Draft or as an undrafted free agent, Katic has decided to put his NFL dreams on hold to pursue this new opportunity.
Katic started 50 games on the offensive line during his six-year career at IU, gaining a wealth of experience along the way. His journey included being redshirted his freshman year, starting fourth on the depth chart, switching multiple offensive line positions, and navigating coaching changes throughout his time at the university.
The news of Katic’s new role at Barstool Sports comes shortly after hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan announced their departure from the company’s popular podcast, Bussin’ With the Boys. Katic expressed his enthusiasm for the new opportunity, stating that he believes this is what he was born to do.
“I’m pumped. This is what I think I was born to do,” Katic shared on The Yak. “Football’s great, but I think this is my thing.” Despite the potential of participating in the NFL Combine, Katic noted that he is excited to be part of the Barstool Sports team and is grateful for the opportunity to embark on this new chapter in his career.
