The Indianapolis Department of Public Works road crews have been working tirelessly to fill potholes in the city, with 13,000 potholes filled in just two days as part of a three-day blitz. Taking advantage of the recent mild weather, crews are using hot-mix asphalt to repair the damaged roads. In an effort to increase their response time, third-shift workers have been moved to earlier shifts.
Public Works has received over 2,200 requests for pothole repairs, and citizens are encouraged to report any potholes through the city’s portal or by calling the Mayor’s Action Center. The hotline is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
This information was reported by WISH-TV and highlights the city’s efforts to address the ongoing issue of potholes on Indianapolis roads. With the commitment of the Public Works crews and the implementation of new strategies to improve efficiency, residents can expect smoother and safer driving conditions in the near future.
