Indiana football player chooses Barstool Sports over NFL Draft, says ‘This is where I belong’

Former Indiana University center Mike Katic has decided to put his NFL dreams on hold and pursue a career with Barstool Sports as a media personality and analyst. After six years playing college football, Katic believes that his true calling is in the media industry. Despite being a potential late-round selection in the NFL Draft, he has chosen to start a new chapter with Barstool.

Katic expressed his excitement about joining Barstool on “The Yak” with Dan “Big Cat” Katz, stating that he believes this is what he was born to do. He recently visited the Barstool offices and received a warm welcome from Super Bowl champion coach Jon Gruden. The two shared a friendly interaction, with Gruden already expressing his admiration for Katic.

After Indiana’s College Football Playoff loss to Notre Dame, Katic hinted that his playing days were over in a social media post thanking Indiana University and football. He was quickly hired by Barstool after impressing Dave Portnoy with his media skills in just three clips. Katic will be based in the Chicago office and is excited to start his new career.

Despite his potential in the NFL, Katic has chosen to follow his passion for media and entertainment. Barstool Sports has gained a talented new personality in Katic, who is looking forward to making a name for himself in the industry.
